I had no idea this even existed?!?!?
This is a sad story.
Today at work, these people came in with an emergency. They thought their cat was dying, so they rushed him in.
Everyone else already had other patients, so I had to sit in the back with this cat and pet him.
He was the sweetest little thing ever! He was purring as I was scratching his ears and giving him forehead kisses.
The vet came back and said the people only brought $20 with them. So we had to put him down since they couldn’t afford to pay for any treatments.
This cat, that I had been holding for an hour, was just supposed to be put down.
I wanted to take him home, I wanted to help those people pay for a treatment. But as soon as I cam up with that sort of idea, the doctor came over with the euthanasia plate.
The owners didn’t even want to be there with their cat as he passed away.
I rubbed his bony back and told him he was a great kitty as he was given the injection.
I stroked his side as the doctor listened to his heartbeat and then removed her stethoscope and gave him a pat.
This cat who I had been loving on just a few minutes earlier was now dead.
And the last memory I’ll have of him is holding open the black plastic bag as he was dropped into it.
As much as I love my vet tech job, it’s these day that are the hardest.

Today is my 8th month being with my boyfriend.
My mother made plans for me and her to go to dinner with friends.
She didn’t even okay it with me.
So now, I can’t go to dinner with my boyfriend, instead I have to sit at a table and be blatantly ignored during the conversations.
Wow! That sounds like fun!
